has anyone had any relaibility problems with the SP mics - I went to use my TB1 on a session recently - I had not used it for a while - a couple of months - in which time it had been stored in its case - and when I fired it up it had no level -and sounded pretty thin - I was going to use it on a vocal and I ended up recording the vocal with a sennheiser 421-they were originally designed for it so I thought "give it a go" -besides the trumpet already was using what I might have used instead (a 414-and I wasnt going to change it all around having set levels etc ) - and frankly - I was really happy with the sound for this particular vocal - it was really intimate -sort of talking/singing female "Willie Nelson" stlye of thing .

So -what might be wrong with my Sp tube mic - and has anyone had a similar experience ?

Sorry for sounding like a smart arse but you have a problem with a bit of gear, in this case an SP product............wouldn't it make much more sense, considering their reputation for excellent customer support, to immediately contact SP and seek their advice. They may even have a toll free number for situations like this.
