That's great middleman! I'll use your words as advice. But i'm still troubled. Don't laugh but does the word "monitor" mean to hear in real-time? I've only used headphones to hear myself with when singing but are you saying you use your SP-5B's to hear as you sing? Or just to mix etc. the playback?
 
Wow, been a long week, working on fried brain, sorry I missed your meaning. No I do not use speakers while tracking. I use headphones while tracking my voice, guitar etc. So, speakers are used just for mixing and playback.

Some people do use their monitors for tracking vocals but I am not one of these. In fact there is some mention of this in the "Mixing Engineers Handbook".
