Hi,

I record vinyl onto soundforge 7.0

Some reason it is now recording only one channel onto both. I switched the left and right channel outs on my tape deck which is where the signal is coming from and then it would just switch to the other and record it onto both. This happened to me over a year ago and the problem just disappeared after a few days, not sure if I'll be so lucky this time. Disconnecting and reconnecting the cords didn't help.

Hope this is the right forum to ask this in?

I expect that what within Soundforge there is a way to select the type of wave you want to record, and that somehow it is set to mono instead of stereo.

If you select File->New, a window should come up where you can set it to stereo recording.

On an existing file, you can right-click on the box at the bottom right corner where it indicates mono or stereo, and it will allow you to select whether or not you want mixed tracks in mono, or discrete left/right tracks....if that helps...
