When I try to apply effects to samples in Soundforge I get high-pitched bleeps. Any idea why this is happening? It sounds like some kind of feedback. I don't understand why it's happening. Thanks in advance for any help.

is it a legal registered copy? i know Sonic Foundry used to use blips and beeps in the demo versions and they went away when you bought the full version.

Yes, it's a purchased copy, though it's the Screenblast version, which I believe is a more affordable version than the full $200 plus version.

I get that every time I use Wave Hammer. I suggest customer support. Although, now that I think about it, I haven't heard from them...

Yes - and it's also pirated...........

Buy the legal version and you won't have any difficulties.... duh.....

It's not pirated! I bought "Screenblast" Sound Forge for approx. $70 (from Amazon, I think), as opposed to the the "Studio" Sound Forge for $200+. It is a completely legitimate copy but just an "amateur" version.

I'll try customer support.

Sorry, MadAudio, I was focused on making clear that I don't mess with pirated software. I did register with Sony (I "updated" my info through the software menu just to make sure) and I'm still having the "blips."

yeah that's wierd. because the blips you are describing are exactly like the ones i've heard on trial versions of other Sonic Foundry stuff. so maybe work it out with Sony and they'll be able to help you out.

My apologies -- I wasn't aware that there was a Screenblast for Sound Forge....

In that event, then double-check with Sony's tech support that the plugs you want to use are enabled in a Screenblast version.... from looking at their site, the Screenblast versions are slightly stripped-down, in which case they may not have the full plug-in set of the full version....

I just installed the free update to Sound Forge Audio Studio and have not encountered any blips in applying effects. So far, so good. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't run into the blips again. Thanks to all who chimed in.

Also, make sure there aren't any conflicts with other applications on your soundcard and try to not have much else running when using Sound Forge.
