I have just purchased the M!2 from soundcraft. On my old desk I used the Tape Out's to output the whole mix to sound card but i notice there isn't one on this desk. Instead there is a S/PDIF output instead.

Is this the only way to record final mix to sound card on th M!2 or can I use another output

Thanks

L

The S/PDIF will be fine but if your looking for something else try an AUX stereo out.

Hey thanks, excuse my ignorance, still finding my way round this desk, Could you explain further. Where are the aux out sockets, and will i be able to feed the whole mix out of the desk with them

Thanks

In the Soundcraft M12 user guide it states that: ' The main mix output provides a stereo signal output for sending to a 2-track recorder, such as a DAT or CD-R recorder. Does anyone know if I am right in assuming that this means the balanced XLR connectors on the master section of the desk? and can i connect these to analogue inputs on my soundcard?

Please help a newbie trying to learn about this

Thanks

L

I have been told that the S/PDIF takes a bit of the warmth of the mix. Soes anyone know if this is true?

Should be there with all of the other outs and would be marked as AUX 1 or maybe AUX 2 out or send.

Then on each channel there would be an Aux volume knob then in the master section an Aux master volume knob.
