I recentlty purchased myself a Soundcraft Ghost and wanted to use the machine controls to control Logic. I am not which machine control driver is necessary. Also, I am not sure if there is something in Logic that may not be doing. I am not too familiar with MTC,LTC, and SMPTE so any articles on this subject would also be appreciated. Thanks.

wow , ehm,
i didn't know that a Ghost could "control" logic?
you mean with midi or stuff? i thought it was just a normal analog mixer without any automation or whatever...

yeah, I just wanted to know how to use the transport controls.

you need to use the mmc and mtc. If you need to sync to smpte, hook the smpte to the board, and make the board spit out mtc to logic.

I have it somewhat running but it keeps on going out of sync. It keeps on jittering. I don't think I need to hook up SMPTE cables because i am not using any video. I am reading up on some articles on synchronizing that will hopefully clear up this matter. It is the first time that I have tried to sync equipment. So maybe this is the main reason I am having troubles.

SMPTE does not mean video. It is just a different type of sync clock. Without really stable clocking, syncing devices can be very frustrating.

It just needs to be midi. Set it to read mtc and you should be cool.
