Soundcraft compact mixers Vs mackie compact

I have a Soundcraft gigrac live mixer 300 watts which sounds great for small live gigs , I also have a Mackie DFX 6 compact mixers which is also good for small gigs , I tried the Mackie for recording with my tascam 8 track and quite liked the results.

What are souncraft like for recording i.e the Soundcraft compact 4 or the spirit series?

Would you rate them over the Mackie's?

Soundcraft make cheap equipment and a lot of people stay away from it.
Look at the mixer section and search for reveiws on soundcraft there.

Mackie all the time, but yamaha make some decent gear
