Soundcraft 200B Is it good ?

I'm thinking to bye a used Soundcraft 200B 32ch. console, but are the technology up to date? Thinking about the overall signal to noise ratio. I'm not going to use the mic preamps since I have a better solution there. Can't find any technical specification on the net. So dos anyone know the signal to noise ratio for the line input ?

According to my Orion Blue Book that mixer listed for 8450 dollars. I dont thing you will be dissapointed. It is top grade equiptment.

I have a 200B and have the manual and all but it doesn't give any S/N for anything. Mic inputs are >2k and line inputs are >10k.

Line inputs have jumpers to work at +4dBu or -10dBv.
 
All N' All it's a good board as long as you make sure it works when you get it. Remember, it's an old board. So replacement parts.

Unfortunetely, you have unscrew and put the channel out to get to the jumper.

I have just got the console in house, and are very pleased. The sound are very varm, very unlike many another mixers.
That's because the opams being used. The Texas TL071 family, witch have cmos on the input stage.
Took the time to measure the frequcy response (flat from 20Hz-20kHz +- 0,5 db). I also found that the Eq shelf was at max at 10kHz and 100Hz.
I little to mutch in the midle maybe, but I'm begining to live with it.

I suppose I may be misunderstanding you here, but my two shelving-EQs are at 12kHz and 60Hz; at least I know they are on my modules with the two sweepable-mids. Oh, you're probably talking about on the standard modules' having the shelving-EQs at 10kHz and 100Hz. Nevermind.

You will be suprised, if you took the same test. Things in the technical spesifications are not always the true (smile).
I have the same filter as you, with sweep in the midle.
The test show, max boost(+11dB) at 10kHz, near flat +(1dB at 12kHz) to 20kHz. The lo shelf gave only + 8dB at 100 Hz, flat from that point to 20 Hz.
It's good to have i mind this things, so you don't get suprises on the end product.
