Ok, I've been reading a lot about this thing....

At first I thought it was a digital mixer, but now I realize that it isn't.

My question is - are people using this with PC recording?

It seems like a weird process....run through it first, and then into the PC...to get your "dry" tracks.

And then run all of the tracks from the PC back out to the soundcraft to do the mixing or something?

Could someone explain to me exactly how this setup would work?

/me thinks I will go with ProTools HD instead...

you would need a sound card with muiltiple audio ins/outs from your pc.

You would use the Ghost because it is has good preamps and EQ. The preamps are helpfull for tracking several sources at once and the EQ is helpfull for adding some bass cut while tracking or for use in the mixdown.

The reason you would use an analog mixer for mixdown is because of poor PC DSP, sound preference or to use more outboard gear. You would simply set all your DAW tracks at unity and run everything through the mixer to adjust volume, pan, fx etc. You then run the master buss back into the DAW to record the final mixdown.
