I need some help.

I am trying to record single instruments (one at a time, using Acid software). What I need to know is what is a good cheap sound card. Right now I am plugging in using an 1/4" to 1/8" adapter thru the factory card, works ok but not very good sound. I just need a cheap card to get something down. Preferrable with 1/4" jacks. Any ideas?

What types of connections are available to you?

PCI? Firewire? USB?

This we need to know in order to help you.
 
Take a look at an M-Audio Audiophile. Tons of people love them.
 
I am just using guitar cables and one from my mic. I just bought a keyboard for drums and other sounds I guess I will use the same cables for that also.
I an new to the pc recording so right now just kinda of piecing it together.
