soundcard suggestions

I've migrated to XP, and I've got a P4/1.7 GHz machine with 512 RAM.

I'm interested in a soundcard that plays nicely with both Cool Edit and Audition and which is straightforward to load and get up and running.

I need only two ins and two outs, but four ins and four outs would be okay. More than that would be a waste.

Any suggestions?

I have a Terratec EWS88D, which has S/PDIF I/O (along with ADAT Lightpipe) and it came with drivers that work well with CEP/AA.

there is a M-audio card you can find for about $150 that is suppose to be really good. I am looking into this one myself. Sorry, I forget the model number. But it has two inputs. Thats my suggestion.

I own it and i can vouch for how well it works. stereo in's stereo outs . midi in/out and digital in/out. for 100 bucks , in my opinion you can go wrong with this.

Dobro, I have the Echo Mia MIDI. It's got amazing clarity and almost no noise level at all. It also has SPDIF if you need it.
