The SBLive is a 16bit/48kHz GAMING card; the Audiophile is a 24bit/96kHz RECORDING card. One is a Volkswagon; one is a BMW.

you have more depth bitrate....similar to using 32 bit color instead of 16 on your desktop. I believe it allows for more range before distortion.
