Everytime I plug my headphones into the headphone input on the front of my soundblaster live drive it immediately mutes the line-in input when I look in the computers volume properties. Has anyone seen this. This just started out of nowhere and its my last hope for recording with a new baby in the house. Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks

Driver re-install maybe?

Have you tried the kxdrivers? They are awesome on the SB type cards, way more routing flexibility, ASIO, etc....

I will try that tonight and post if it fixed the problems. Thanks for the advice!

Its funny because at first the driver update didnt work. But then I did the update again and it seems to be working now. I guess i didnt realize how ancient my gear was. I mean i think its from the mesozoic era!
thanks for the help, and the link to soundblaster forums. Very helpful.

older version isn't always a bad thing

Its funny because at first the driver update didnt work. But then I did the update again and it seems to be working now.
I have had many weird things happen with different Soundblasters, for no apparent reason
SB PCI-128 ... no sound. had to re-install from CD. 5 or 6 times in 5 years. On Win98 and XP Pro.
Audigy 2 ZS (OEM) I got used (XP Pro) ... tried over and over for days to get the thing working. Maybe 6 attempts. Even tried KXDriver, which was OK, but a tad complex, and goofy interface. I had a hunch, to try the 2005 drivers and software from Creative website, after removing soundcard, re-boot, re-boot, install card, re-boot, cancel detected new hardware, and then install the software manually, then re-boot. I hear bad things about the 2008 updates ... which I tried in the initial installs ... lots of problems.
So, an older version isn't always a bad thing
