sound great through monitors, not so elsewhere?

My final mix sounds awesome through my studio monitors, but sounds like crap on any other home or auto system. I am mastering and mixing down in Cakewalk Sonar 4 and using preset what you hear with all option.
Playback sounds great through my Rokit 5's. What am I missing?

Is the room you're mixing in have any acoustic treatment? That could be one reason.

Yup...1st thought is the room. Acoustic treatment? Bass traps?

Translation was my biggest problem til I treated my room. Check out Ethan Winers and GIK's sites on what to do. Ethan and Glen are both good people with a wealth of knowledge.
