Avance AC97...

Anyway, this is nothing to do with recording. After faffing about with my soundcard trying to let myself record again... I decided to go back to my original settings. I rolled my driver back to what it was "Avance AC97 Audio".

But damn... everything is DEAD quiet. I adjusted the sound settings to no avail. Heres the strange bit though guys. Media Player works FINE! And when I am playing something on that... All my other sounds work perfectly (For example MSN Messanger message alerts) etc.

What have I done? Help me (I am getting sick of this now... so I want to wrap it up, get my soundcard back to normal and record on someone elses PC.)

Can you help me? Thank you.

I don't know if this will help, or if it's even what you are looking for, but try installing the latest drivers.

I am currently using the Realtek AC97 Audio... but I that has the same problem as the Avance AC97 Audio driver.

After installing the Realktek I uninstalled it and I was using some Intel thing. So I rolled back and got back to my Avance AC97 Audio driver again.

Have had the same problem ever since.

Did you set the PC to play audio out of the AC 97 in the control panel?

Also, in your audio program, did you route the playback via the AC 97, and disable the other card?

Just trying to think of simple things you might have overlooked...
