I've been looking to get a new sound card so I could copy my vinyl records to CDs. After lots of failure trying to figure out what I should be looking for, I found this one (see below) for $25 (incl. s/h) on eBay & bought it. It looked really good, but

a) I didn't have a lot of time to check it out, since by the time I saw it this item there was only 5 hrs. to go, and

b) I've about given up trying to find out what kind of card will be adequate for my needs.

If I've made a $25 mistake, I'd rather not compound that by the hours of frustration that will probably be spent before I give up on this. So, I'm inviting recommendations on whether to install this card, or trash it.

Thanks for any help.

Seems like an adequate card in that price range. Why not try to install it. Worst case is it doesn't work and you yank it back out.
No more than a few minutes wasted.
And why shouldn't it work?
It is a full duplex card and should work as the basis for digital multitracking.

Thanks for the reassurance. -- I'll post the results when I get a chance to try it (due to scheduling problems, will probably be about 3 weeks).

I'm relatively 'tech' -- but I just have developed a very dismal expectation about any computer add-on or upgrade. The list of things I could imagine going wrong might crash this forum, and would include hundreds of repetitions of "Something I've never heard or or imagined". E.g., see my response in Newbies about the simple task of installing my HP CD-RW.

Anyway, I appreciate having had someone look at the specs and let me know they appear to be on track.
