ive been recording rap vocals for quite some time now, and ive been using the rode nt1a, its an alright mic, but i was thinkin....would the ntk or the k2 be a justifiable upgrade? has anyone tried these mics for rap vocals? i also need a mic for singing also so...what do you think?

rap mic

Around here I use a GT55 with good results, also for singing hooks. you also can try the mxl v67 or the at 4050 and the shure sm7. All are good mics for that in your face sound without leacing a big dent in your pocket.

The AT4047 is a genuine upgrade. It works on a lot of voices.

The Peluso VTB1 seems to be getting good reviews for this type of vocal and also offers 9 patterns. Another mic I have always liked for this type of application is the Soundelux U195 with the FAT switch engaged. U47 style mics also do well here.
