Not a WHOLE song...A verse...In one take for three parts (four if you count a little harmony thingy). Since the mic is side-addressing, I had the microphone on it's side (hanging horizontally from a boom). The 20db pad and lf filter were off. Guitar is a 100 dollar junker with three month old strings.

I recorded this in an untreated bedroom with shitty, shitty acoustics and a horrible jump in bass at about 90hz.

The rhythm guitar was recorded with the mic really close (an inch) angled down slightly in front of the soundhole, between my hand and the fretboard
the lead was recorded about six inches away (this seems to be the sweet spot) from the sound hole, tilted slightly up
The vocals were recorded about six inches away with a pop screen in between the mic and my face. The mic was slightly higher than my mouth.
The little harmony thing at the end of the 'solo' was recorded at the 12th fret 3 inches away.

All tracks into the 8th input of a Firepod at about -15dbfs, into Sonar at 24/48.

I compressed the whole track pretty heavily(10:1, 800ms release, 5ms attack), but the only EQ I did was cutting away some of the bottom end, especially at 90hz and getting rid of some at 3.4khz (where the presence of my voice lies) on the acoustic to diminish conflict. That and some very light reverb to add a bit of depth and there was hardly any processing.

I LOVE how this mic sounds. It's really detailed and warm. I'm definitely buying another.

Opinions?
