Here,s a new song I just finished, that I sent out to a good friend, who helped me hear music in a new light, if you know what I mean, such a long time ago.

I would also like to send this out to all you homerecors, who have helped me on numorous ocations, to maybe get a little better at this.

Recent thank's to Emeric, for telling me to humanise my drums, and to Roland Saul, for the gift of gif.

Please let me know what needs changing.

Thanks,

GT

GT, I think there is some problem with Lycos, it won't play for me....

LI Slim,

Thanks for trying. I downloaded it myself, and it worked fine, here in Florida.

I'm begining to think that the problem may be teritorial. Please try again.

I will check out your song tonigt.

GT, it's the search function that's all screwed up. Can you provide a real link?

I've got it allrighty...

Man... Your di... guitarneck must be all sore after that.. ;)

Nice playing! after 4.09 it really started kicking ass, nice touch on yer wah there. Nice work on the drums. Very clear sounding despite the 96kbps thing. What I usually miss on these kinda tunes is a little melodic theme to lean onto.

Nice job GT.

P.S. S2K, it's the post reply function that's all screwed up.

The hi-fi play still doesn't work but the download did.

A lot of fun, great lead guitar tone and good mix. I also like it when the second guitar comes in after 4:00, and I prefer the searing, bending notes to the pure speed, although that's a personal preference.

Nice tune and great playing! Overall I enjoyed it very much.

It was lacking a certain sparkle or element of realism. I guess it could be the 96kbps MP3...does lycos require that?

Thanks, Emeric, for the link, the other one blew....

Great sound, great wah, great playing...one nit pick though....maybe a little variation in the bass notes?...my head is still sorta nodding zombie- like up and down, and the song stopped about two minutes ago.....gibs

Emeric,

Thanks for the faster link, let me see if I can do it finally.

Meshaggah,

Glad you liked it, I was glad that my guitar stayed in tune to the end, there's a lot to be said for dead strings. I kept the melody simple, to let the guitar shine.

LI Slim,

"Lot of fun" Yeah, it was a lot of fun to play too.

Hey Slack,

Glad you liked it, I used 96kbps, because of the length of the tune, at 128kbps, it would have been a pretty long download.

I think96kbps did knock off some of the high end. I also shelved the highs a little, to make this tune more condusive to louder volume, seemed like a good one to play loud. I am a firm believer that a little treble goes a long way, especially at higher volume.

You have good ears.

Gibs,

Sorry for the link, it actually used to work, not any more. Glad you liked it. I went for a very simple bass line on this one. I didn't want to spend too much time on this tune, I was trying to keep it spontanious.

Thanks for listening,

GT

Sorry.

I tried but couldn't get it. My cable modem is working fine, but the song wouldn't stream or download.

Hey Slack,

I've been listining to the mix, you're right on, 3db more at 8khz would have been better especially at 96kbps. Point well taken!!

I'm allways trying not to have to much treble in the mix. Must be all those days with analog.

Johnboy,

Thanks for trying!

Lycos has been a bit of a bitch lately. Maybe try again later.

Good sound for sure. I think a bit of rhythm guitar would blend the whole thing out a bit and add more realism. Counting 6/4, rhythm hitting pseudo reggae 4 and 6 for 3 patterns, and again 4 and 6 with another chord. Just a thought, whatabout doubling the bass line with guitar, have that one left channel and the rhythm right... Anyway just some ideas, don't know if you wanted suggestions for additional parts or not, but there ya go. Some don't like that sorta thing.. :)

Good job!

Thanks Emeric,

Glad you enjoyed it. I did this one right after I got my new truck. I was in a good mood and just felt like jamming. So I hit record, and went.

Hey, I got an email from Big Kahuna, and I was wondering what this Jam would sound like with him jamming on the keys, the boy can play! I hope he"ll do it. If he wants to I will up the treble a little and send it to him at 128kbps. That would be the icing.

Also thanks for the direct link. I can finally do it myself. Will wonders never cease?

GT,

SHWEEET bro!!!

Nice clear recording...

Made me want to go float in smoke or something (not a drug reference.... just a visual thing).

Watch me float around on this smoke cloud, chillin' to GT's groove.

Just got to a part in the song that I've got to comment on... It sounded like possibly (just opinion bro) that the drums were humanized just a tad too much? The timing sounded off to me, although, definitely sounded human, but sounded like the "virtual drummer" was zonin' out hard or something.

I think I've got that humanize function on my Roland... I should play with that... pretty neat... Although, usually to mess away with some of the perfect timing stuff, I usually set the quantize to high when I'm tapping out certain patterns or fills so they don't fall perfect into the slots. Just on some of them though.

Good job GT.

Teddie,

Thanks for listening, and glad you liked it. Yeah This was one I just banged it out in one take.

I set the drum machine on loop, and started playing my guitar, and actually stoped in the middle to play the drum pads. All done in real time, one take left all the mistakes in. Sometimes I just like to play for fun, damn the torpedos.

Got it out of my system, and will try for a little more substance next go.

Once again glad to have you back!!
