Song called "Gone"

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, I'm assuming this section of the forum isn't only for covers, right?

I recently got some recording equipment, and it came with Cubase, and I also got a microphone to do some singing. So this is basically the first real, complete song I've done using all this new stuff. The production/sound mixing isn't very good, but just give it a listen and give constructive criticism if you have any. Thanks. Here are the lyrics:

Verse 1:

A cold and misty morning
A chill creeps up my spine
As I walk along the way

Over across the distance
I hear a rising roar

People run away
They know not where they run
One step, another life destroyed

The anger, it starts to spread
As a thousand questions rise


Chorus:

I’ll never take it
Our world is failed by everyone
The good ones can’t keep their silence

I swear I’ll make it
But I know our senses will be gone
If we let our lives control us

Always forsaken
A good life that never will be done
They tore our lives in two

Faith is now faded
How’s this the Will that will be done

Verse 2:

So this is where it ends
A frantic, desperate scene
Cold pain, running through my head

Shouts heard through the air
A painful cry for help
Which will, never ever come

Fear-induced resistance
No way to escape
Each life determined by a draw

The smoke begins to clear
Now I see as the
Darkness falls, the pain prevails
 
Its a pretty good song and a good feel. :cool:

The rest will come with recording experience, it takes a long time to learn this stuff. The vocals need compression, the drums too dry, the mix is a little uneven etc. All that stuff takes time and you can only learn by doing it a zillion times. :)
 
The gtrs are rhythmically tight. I like the minimalist approach to the instrumentation.
