I recorded this song in my homestudio using a rhode ntk, a behringer mixer, an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and a edirol soundcard. the drums were also recorded with one mic, but I put a snare layer on top of them. What do you think of it? If you got some mastering tips you can always shoot them. Hope you like it.

Good easy listening song, found it relaxing and cool. There's one chord or note in your chorus that is not jiveing with the vocal melody. It could be a major where it's supposed to be a minor, not sure. It's when you say she cannot smile - just before the word "cannot". Anyway, the rest of it is great, mix is cool. I like the snare sound you're getting - overdub eh? cool... The mix is extremely clean and has a nice reverb on it. I have an NTK and I like it - you've just confirmed again it's a nice mic....Good job!

I actually think I'd like to hear it without the pasted snare. That snare seems a bit JARRING at the beginning....

It's a pretty song. Makes me want to get out of my "bone dry" vocal treatment phase and start using reverb again.

yeah, overall...the snare seems to prominent, but that's my only huge problem. If I were mixing it, I'd have a fatter low end, but this sounds pretty balanced to me.

Really nice voice, by the way.

You have some pretty good things - solid eletric guitar job and singer performance and tone .Ac guitar is OK, but ocupping the same space (center) than eletric ; some pan and/or effect can help.Solo is a bit thin (not too much).

Bass drum lacks basically "everything" (volume, bass frequencies, tone, punch).

You can even try a boost in the 60hz region (drum track) and something in the mid frequencies "I don´t know where", but there´s a lot of speculation here (´cause BD issues have to do with the recording/micing/playing).

Overall, good job, nice performance.

@ ido: thanks man, yea I also like my ntk, I checked the guitarpart in the chorus but I don't really see what you mean, maybe I bended a bit or something..

@ chrisharris: thanks for the compliment, here is the version without the pasted snare, but I think the track really needs a fat snare drum, maybe it's not the right sample:

@ ciro: thanks for listening and argumenting! I heard your guitar track and the quality really amazed me... :)
