I'M BLESSED.......
I linked Reason with Sonar....
I keep getting a "Sonar must close" due to a couple of different options.
Is that a common problem? I have a gateway p3 512 ram soundblaster soundcard, do you think it is a soundcard problem?

What is the "different options"?

Have you linked them via ReWire?

And: What soundcard do you have?

I did link it via rewire
I will jot down the possible failure options that it lists, and I will find the exact model etc. of the soundcard that I have.
I know that it did mention that Sonar will shut down if the signal becomes interrupted consistantly, especially when the pc is not processing the signal/return fast enough. Which I heard is a problem when you are running just midi tracks with no audio tracks.
I am new to pc recording, I always used hardware (Still do) but I am impressed with the powerful software products that are out.

But with ReWire you still have an audiotrack, right? The Output from Reason is routed to Sonar?

And Computer Music is great! Especially when using Sonar! :D

BUT you need a good soundcard... as a hardware-man you understand. Better soundcard means stability, lower latency and better sound. :)

I had some issues slaving Reason 2.5 to Sonar, (if you haven't got the freebie upgrade to 2.5 - DO - the reverb alone is AWESOME), which seemed related to latency.

Once I had my sound card properly set up to use ASIO or WDM drivers, (not MME), and set my latency for less than 10ms, Reason inserted as a DXi device in the Synth Rack of Sonar 2.2 XL, works like a dream.

Post more about your configuration and what the actual errors are. Also check the Propellerheads website, www.propellerheads.se, on their bulletin board. There are plenty of people there using this configuration successfully.

Good luck.

:) Q.

I've made myself a rule when using Reason with ReWire:
When using ASIO-drivers in Sonar, use WDM-drivers in Reason.
When usign WDM-drivers in Sonar, use ASIO-drivers in Reason.

Works great!
