I'm trying to record songs on Sonar 1.3.1 with a psr 740, but when I playback the song it sounds like crap. I'm using MIDI from keyboard to computer. My sound card is a Creative Soundblaster PCI 512. I'm not interested in multitracking, I just play songs for friends with accompaniment and melody all at once. Normally I play into my sony cassette recorder but now I want to be able to record onto cd's. That's why I got Sonar but I haven't mastered that yet. What else can I do or am I missing something?

basically i just wanted something that would convert midi files to mp3s then I could make cds. That's why I like the encoding feature on Sonar. I can record on the 740 alone and make midi files.

You need to record the audio output of the 740 in Sonar. You can't convert midi to audio.

That's simple! So if I just connect an audio output then I don't need the midi output?
