sonar 3 still not rec. audio

I tried the configuration suggestion and it did not work...I believe my sound card has surround sound...does that make a difference?
It shows me 3 different types such as 1/2, 3/4 etc. The system said it configured the hardware...but when I open sonar 3 a box comes up that says, "being used by other" then gives me the option to disable or use anyway. I've chose both and it still did not turn on the black rec. dot. But again ,it will for midi...HELP!
 
colourblind, I know you are new here so let me give you a tip...don't ask the same question in muliple posts, continue posting to the same thread that you started with - unless it is a completely new question.

And don't send Private Messages PM's multiple times. All your questions will be answered as soon as peeps can get round to it, its bad manners to hassle the members. Remember, folk only do this as a hobby, in their spare time, its not a manufacturers warranty & tech support site;)
