Pros like me don't care about the price. :D

...Only if they realy make a blow upgrade worth. (eg. Ultrafunk 3, Record cliping indicator, sub mains, etc.)... I don't think I have many major issue to complain about 2.2XL ;)

Alledged pics of 3

There is guy on another forum who has 2 alledged screenshots of S3 which he will email upon request.

I received them and will offer the same deal.

I'm not vouching for the accuracy nor the veracity of these pictures. They appeared on another forum but were taken down.

Email if interested.

Again, don't know how true this is but...

Ships 9/30
$719 List Producer
$499 List Studio

It's the upgrade price I am wondering about. Wonder how nasty that's going to be.

The producer version is alleged to be aimed at high-end users and may possibly contain Project 5, a VST wrapper as well as the Ultrafunk Sonitus plugins. Yeehaw!

Studio might be aimed at high-end home studios.

Project 5? I can live without another peice of software sucking the life out of my CPU cycles.

I'd rather have the new version with an Ultrafunk upgrade. Any more bells an whistles and it starts to look like the Cakewalk 9 XL version which was a whole lotta nothing on top the main software.

pdlstl, you seem to have an inside scoop on all this. Very cool. Any other insights?

Nothing magical about my knowledge...

Forum

Well, other than a link to the Ultrafunk site...interesting that they ceased operations in May.

Well the ultrafunk piece is pretty much confirmed from that thread. I already have the suite so it won't be an upgrade for me unless they have polished up the package. They are incredible plug ins though.

I would like them to add Protools plug-in compatability so I can go after the Amp Farm. This is asking too much I am afraid. The Project 5 thing does not look all that solid which is fine by me.

Ozone would be nice for mastering. That would be the complete pro package. Ultrafunk, Ozone and Sonar 3.

The screen shots look interesting, parametric view on the console. That's cool. I need that in the tracks view which it looks like out there to the side.

Oh, last but not least, I want pre track effects from the plug ins. Then I can toss out some of my hardware stuff. I'll buy whatever CPU I need to make that happen.

My favorite thing will be editing, slip editing, fades and adding and deleting effects in real time while playing without interupting playback at all. I like that.

Oh man. I had visions of a new sound card and maybe a synth in the near future. Now, I'm not sure??? Gotta figure out my priorities.

I really hope it won't be more than $200 US for the XL to XL upgrade (or producer edition if that's what they are calling it now). But a $700 MSRP, so we'll see.

The rumors are pretty sweet and the screenshots do look purdy.

Hmmm....

You know that won't happen with Sonar 3 knocking on your door! Maaaan, they better hurry! :D :D :D

Rumors are it is supposed to ship on Sept. 30

Will come in Producer and Studio versions
Producer - $719
Studio -$499

-A new Gui (see my other post "Sonar 3 Screenshots")
-Assignable insert effect control knobs right in your console view
-Busses that can assign to busses
-New plugs (which will probably include the UltraFunk set of plugins)
-Edit and all with the audio rolling

If I find out more I'll post, details are sketchy.

From the screenshots he posted, it looks like those control knobs are in Track View as well. Still no need to open Console View. :D

(Plus I'm told Console View makes you go blind.)

Come on, Dachay. That console looks fiiiiiine. ;)

I know you want it. :D

if so i hope they worked something out with the summing bus as well...i used to think it was bullshit(different programs having different algorithms that degrade the sound)till i moved my mixing to samplitude 7...

Whats wrong with the summing bus? Its reputedly a good one.

i just did a quick A/B between sonar and samplitude (no plugs or volume or panning etc..)difference was minimal...the difference was in the high's sonar seemed to be more 'brittle' in the highs, but its nothing to jump around about...i guess it must be in how each program handles plug-ins then becauze my vocals would get smeared when i BTD in sonar or samplitude just has better stock efx(room simulator is the truth)...i'm about to go a/b them on different systems and see what is up....
