Hey everybody,

I'm currently making a bit of a shift from Sonar to Nuendo and I'm experiencing some growing pains. I'm told Nuendo is the way to go and I already have the RME 96/52 adat optical card with Apogee AD16/DA16 converters.

Now, what I want to know is can I run sonar with this souncard/converter config as well as Nuendo? The packaging of the 96/52 suggests that it was tailor made for Nuendo but I'm thinking it might work fine with the Sonar I already bought and UNDERSTAND!

I feel a little stupid for buying these converters without any experience beyond my Audiophile but I just figured you guys would always be there to help. Does anyone use the RME 96/52 with Sonar?

I bet it works! As long as the RME card has either WDM-drivers or ASIO-drivers (and most likely it has ASIO-drivers, since Nuendo is a Steinberg program), you'll be fine... :)

I use the RME Multiface with sonar on laptops and desktops. Works great. They don't have WDM drivers now, but RME is known for quality drivers and I have been using their MME driver with no problems.

Haven't tried it with ASIO yet -- my perception from reading RME's stuff and their newsgroup is that the ASIO is superior.

Looking forward to the improvement, even though I am happy performance wise.
