No, its not one of mine, so don't think I've actually got to record anything since January, damnit. The only thing I actually had to do with this was writing the words to the verse. THe rest was Brians, the singer that I had on my other song that most of you heard. And for those of you that liked him, well, heres something you can check out. Or not.
I'll pick it apart for ya, so you don't have to...
It opens WAY to thin, on purpose I beleive, but it does get meatier at 22 seconds and shapes up SOME.
The mix and tracking are pretty pathetic IMO, and I know nothing about it except that he used Cubase. I do, however, think some of the ideas are decent, and the song has a pretty good feel to it. Some serious mastering AT LEAST is in order. I attempted to clean it up before I posted it, but Sonar crashed on me every time I opened the Sonic Timeworks mastering EQ, and after about 6 times of almost getting done, I got pissed and quit.
My own educated guess is that its a drum machine (obviously) and that the guitars are run direct through some sort of distortion box or a pod or something. As far as mics go on the vocals, I have no idea of the chain. THe vocals sound pretty decent compared to the other stuff, though, and can be sorta catchy in thier own way.
What I dont understand is why he didnt call me to track this stuff for them and mix it and offer ideas. I was kind of offended, actually, especially after I heard how much improvement I could have made on the final mix. I would have at least fixed those damned hats...
There is a real cool break at 3:12, and there are some cool, almost hidden, guitar or keyboard parts in the background around 3:50, kind of almost phantom in a way.
If anyone likes it and wants to hear another, I can load one up. The 2nd one on the CD has some real cool verses and a cool ending, although the chorus sucks ballsack. I think Brian could be the bomb with proper instruction and if he'd lay off the cigarettes and crack. Probably wont happen though. Sigh.

You can also hear him on one of mine if you never actually heard it at....

Ok, I've had no luck with Nowhere Radio as of yet (no offense Waldo) but it didnt take for some damn reason, and it took a frigging hour.
I reposted it on my MP3.com site, and I guess now they have to approve the damn thing.
Heres the address for when it finally shows up...

I'm gonna try NowhereRadio again tonight at work from the T3 connection.
I dont care what anyone says, this method of posting and transferring music is far from mature, and it needs major improvement.

I'm developing a little application that sits on your system and communicates with the NoWhere servers that will work more similar to FTP. Transfers can be resumed, threaded, etc., and will take less time on average than standard browser transfer.

Just so you know, the upload method for NoWhere, mp3.com, and all the rest is exactly the same. It is 100% dependent on your browser. If your browser screws up, then the server doesn't get the song. Which, happens a little more often than I like to try and trouble shoot.

Look for the application either middle of next month, or in Feb.

I can't get nowhereradio to load past the logo, and little banner ad at the top of the page.Am I just not patient enough?Sorry to post this on your thread T-dude!Tell you what,I'll DL that song to make up for it!

Try using a non-netscrape browser.

Netscrape has an issue rendering tables....

NWR3 addresses this new-found issue. It'll be open in January

tubedude,

I listened to "I Dunno." Great song. Overall, I envy the snare drum on this. Is this a live snare or is it "Memorex?" (You might be too young to remember this advertising slogan.) Good stuff, I hope that Brian can get his shit together, he has a lot of power.

Regards...

I think I need to upgrade my browser too, cause I have mucho trouble with Nowhere...
Real snare, yes... Beta57 to a Mackie, actually.
And yes, I rem the commercials :)

Human resourses was closed off tonight, so I couldnt go there to load the song... I'll try tomorrow night...

That snare sound is nice!

Excellent.... The mix was a little loose.... but overall I dug the whole package....

I just want to add for anyone wanting to get that snare sound>.....It is more than mics and shit... Most importantly PLACEMENT and drum TUNING..... and those take talent......

I am getting bored of all these new singers that sound like that guy from creed..

Cool stuff anyways tubedude!

Cheers...
