Fostex Forum ThreadCould someone be so good as to go to this thread and verify what I've been told by a Fostex Technician. Especially the last post, where I'm told by the Tech to turn my TRIM all the way down on the MR8.

Please and Thank You Very Much!!!

I am at the office, CD, so when I get home, I am going to hook my keyboard up to my MR-8 and see what happens with the trim all the way down. And I will have the machine set to mic/line....

give me two hours...

Does your keyboard have the capability of outputting a signal @ +4dB and -10dB? I'm most concerned with which would have the lowest SN ratio on the MR8. Specifically because the MR8 does not have balanced 1/4 inputs, as the DMP3 does, so then does it actually accomadate the +4db signal?

If you turn down the trim on that unit, it makes the input a line level input. That is what you should be sending it, line level. You will be fine if you follow fostex's advise.

Yup .

The manual says it's +2db.... :( , and when I plugged it in with the volume cranked up and the trim all the way down, it was a really weak signal. I had to crank up the trim. Sorry, failed experiment...
