comments and suggestions are welcome
recording some new different tracks right now similar to this one,
and can use some ideas

I have exactly that rug.

What? The brown one?

I like the back-and-forth between the guitars in the panning.

Vocals could probably come up a touch. The guitars are very forward, and the vox feel a little buried for it. (They're still very clear tho, which is a little weird, actually)

Solid guitar and drum work as usual. The vocal when the volume ramps up is a little weak and in the really loud part (around 2:40 on), it gets buried

I have exactly that rug.

I read "rig" instead of "rug" and went, "What are the chances ... friggin astronomical!" ... I'm jet lagged.

Great song! I really liked the trick you pulled with the vocal around 0:52 on the all alone - can you reveal the secret?!

One of my small complaints is the vocal gain, it's your choice but I'd do it louder. I agree with Steve in that you can hear 'em clearly, but I'd like to hear 'em better. I'd also like a little more meat to the snare, but it's an IMO.

Great job!

hey steve, thanks for checking it out

you know, seems lots of folks want to hear those vox louder,
and i think they're just right!
LOL

i tried to keep them clear, like you say,
yet sit into the mix like being in the middle of a band..
that was the imagery i was after, anyways....

hi mjb, thank you for listening and commenting

i hear you about that vox...
i kinda wanted it to feel like the band was coming on so strong that the vox would be a little under,
kinda like a live event...
but again, it's a subjective call, for me, i heard it the way i wanted it to be,
folks that are listening to modern mixes, especially pop/rock, seem to want the vox really hot across the board..

yea, rig, rug,
actually i DO know a few folks that actually have an older boogie, in cream, and an avatar cab (even tho on this song, i was using a different cab)
funny....

vocal at :52, that one's pretty easy..
i automated two fx, one flange, and one reverb,
and just brought them way up for that one 'all alone'...... as i brought the volume down, it makes it seem like it is disappearing into the back of the soundstage.....
i had to find the right flange effect, it's a WAVES plugin, i think off of SUPERTAP, and the reverb was probably a WAVES Rverb
