Some pictures of my desk.

Sorry. I had changed the name of the page but forgot to change it in the link.

I'm a dummy.... :(

Nice website! I'd like to see more info on your facility though. No pics of the recording area, no mention of iso's or how you track your musicians. Not that it's a huge deal, but I would think prospective clients would like to have an idea of what the place looks (and feels) like. Since you're catering to acoustic music, people might expect a "homey" feel to the place, which you may or may not offer. Just my input here...not trying to ridicule. It's also very possible I just missed this info and I'm talking out of my hat!

Rick,

Thanks for the input!

The site is not finished as of yet. There will be more info and pics as I can get them up.

Very homey feel to my place. It's in my home. :) Still doing some acoustic treatment. Once that is completed, I'll out up more pics.

Thanks again!

Page loads, but pictures don't...

Not sure why. This is the first I've heard of that. :(

Can you get into my site through my sig?

Yep, but no images load.
I'm also in Mozilla Firefox, not IE...
I'll check it out in IE...

EDIT: Nope, still no pics in IE either...

I can relate to that. I'm still working on a website. I'll let you know when it's up so you can find what I've forgotten to put there! :-)

FYI - I had no problems loading your page (through your sig). I'm on DSL if that makes a difference.

BTW - I love the name of your place!

Hey, what are these? They look cool. I want things with dials and knobs on too. :D

I bought this from my guy at Guitar Center. They and Musician's Friend (same thing) sell it for $499 but my guy let me have it for $399.

Click here to see the desk.

Of all the different knockdown studio furniture I've owned this is the stoutest and best laid out. And it comes with eight fairly heavy duty casters (hard rubber). A real time saver for sure.

In addition to the desk, I ordered the little side racks from Nice-Racks. I had him build them 1/16" less than the height from the desk to the bottom of the monitor shelf. Gives them a nice snug fit. He does great work and is VERY reasonable. I think I paid about $45 each for those racks (solid pine) 25 different stains). Because the height was an odd dimension, I had him install 4-space rack rail. I left the top open for ventilation.

how does that behringer stack up to the avalon? ;) (nice setup, love the controller/central station placement)

One is a wonderfully transparent Class A preamp.

The other isn't heavy enough to be a boat anchor. ;)

Having everything (MCU/Central Station) together has turned out to be very helpful for me.

Pdlstl, cool, and thanks for the link!! BTW does the metal uprights cause any resonation? If you tap or bang on them do they have a tone?
Looks great, but damn I can't aford it. I could prolly do just as good with DIY, but sometimes its easier and looks better when you purchase a product.

And when are you gonna swap out the beh.. ringer? just kidding, they look cool together cuz of the face plate being brushed metal.

Very nice.

My one criticism - and it's a small one - is that I'd remove one of those blue lamps. Having them symetrically spaced looks a bit formal. Just one at the side would look a bit more random and less perfect...

Other than that, it's a shit-hot studio and infinitely better than mine...

:D
