some noob LE4 questions

how do i get to virtual instruments? I can't find any effects, and can someone explain how the FX channel works? like reverb on vocals or something

please get back thx for the help
 
There's a pretty good, long manual on the CD that you install Cubase LE from. Have you been through that yet?

It explains the stuff better and in more detail than i could....
 
no i didn't see it

and when i try to export a audio file it says "left and right locators must be set" what does that mean?
 
you have to move the markers on the top, from the beginning of the song.. thru the end,when you do so the margins between your song will be in "BLUE".. then make sure you select the proper tracks your exporting and your should be fine...
 
what markers are you talking about? i tried highlighting the whole thing that didn't work, i don't know what the left and right indicators are..... please help
 
Welcome to the world of digital recording.
There are a lot of basics that you are missing when it comes to using Cubase. You should look into getting a beginners book for cubase. They are a lot easier to read than a manual.
You should also look at watching training videos for cubase online. I work for a company that makes them but there are other companys as well. Just make sure you find someone who has short to the point videos for every task. That way you only have to watch the video on exporting and not mixing, mastering, exporting, cd dup....basically 30 minutes to get 3 minutes worth of information.
Watching the videos really seem to help people because you can see the work being done as they explain.

You should also have the manual in pdf format under the Help menu at the top of your screen. After the you have the pdf open, search for "indicators" or whatever you want to know about. Everywhere in the manual that the word indicators is used should be highlighted. And I'm not sure about LE, but Essentials came with tutorial videos on the disk. You might want to stick the disk in and explore the folders.
