I just got back form being in the pits of the Northern Ca sprint car champion and couldn't sleep, so I am posting a few miscellaneous songs. My next cd will be titled "PAYDIRT" and will have Dave's car on the cover.

She Died at the Midnight Hour - solo from last night
Easy Rocking Feeling- same
I won't take up no more of your time - same
It's Mighty Painful When a Child Falls - same
I don't understand much- same

Walter

I'm sorry that I must be the one.. but as I said in a previous thread, you shoud really answer some posts to get yours answered.. see I don't mean to be harsh, but I think everybody is qualified to write a meaning(even you), even it isn't professional - but the main thing is that this hr-clinic is a comunity which lives from helping each other, and I hope this it'not just a stupid suggestion 4 u, but sometimes it's good enough just to say that you liked a song or not even if it's unqualified meaning like that of a radio listener/consumer, but better than nothing!

cheers

I will do it. This will be a 100 times bigger challange for me than posting my stuff. Thanks Walter

Walter,

I will check out your stuff shortly!

My ears a bit burnt out right now but, I will get to your stuff!

Cheers! :)

ps, if your on dial up, I know it's a real time consumer to download stuff. If your on high speed.........................Hey!

Ghost: Thanks. I am on dialup and low fi. I want to thank Groove Junkie for pushing me to respond to others stuff. I do listen to a lot of tunes on the forum, but my lack of technical and musical knowledge gets me pretty scared to post here. I haven't listened to a radio(except when I have no choice in a store, etc), or bought a current cd in probably 20 years. I only listen to a few old blues guys, Sinatra, Bennet, Martin, Prima, simple quiet classical, and Jackie Gleason. Not much else holds my attention. I think it is space. I find little music today that leaves any. That is what turns me on, and I do hear more space in music here than on any radio or commercial cds. Walter

Walter,

I checked out "Are you ready to meet your maker."

It's a good little blues tune with some very nice slide guitar work! It kind of reminded me of George Thorowgood in spots but I know he is not the true innovator of that sound.

Considering it was a live performance, you captured the whole band quite well except for the vocal which a little low in the mix. I don't know if this was intensional or if it is how you Mic'd the gig?
If this was a multi-track recording, you might want to bring it up a notch.

Thanks for posting and sharing!

Cheers! :)

Ghost: I agree the vocal mix is way too low. It was the weakest song of that gig and didn't make it to the cd. I record everything with "21st field recording technology". In plain English it means a mini disc and a core sounds mic hung in front of the band. You can hear more at: http://www.spontobeat.com/

I am continuing to play around with this technology because it allows me to do what I have wanted to do for 40 years - record whenever and wherever I want, without depending on others. I have put out 2 cds of my spontaneously created music and have a 3rd ready to go anyday. The Alpine Hall cd(you can hear it at the nowhereradio site) catches some better mixes. Thanks for your feedback. Now if only they will invent a multi track mini disc, so I can hang a bunch of these little mics all over the stage/street....... Walter

Hey Walter,
I listened to I Don't Understand Much.
Excellent!

Good quality for the way you recorded it.
Performance is top notch.

Sounds like I'm listening to the radio 50 years ago, very cool!
I could dig on this stuff all night.:D

Pete

"I don't understand much"

This should be on a placard above my workstation and I should look up and say it aloud several times a day.

Hey finally your links are working!

Very authentic sounding blues here, good job capturing that feel Walter. I think the only thing I've ever hear like it was those Robert Johnson recordings.
