Some more vocals and a new song

Hi, for all those who wanted a fuller version of

I have done some more work, basically once I write some more lyrics I will be able to finish the song (BTW I tried Fangar's method with the Guitar). You may notice that there is no chorus or bridge (only a solo) but I feel the song works OK without it.

I also have a new song which was written and recorded tonight, The vocals get a bit shakey on the higher notes (not that high though) but I would like to hear what you think.

Thanks for listening, I know this is the mixing clinic forum but I am thinking about getting a band together ang playing my stuff so I would like to know what you think about the actual musical content of my stuff.

I really like the beat to Over -- the vocals seem weak....step back from the mic, stand up, and feel it from the diapraghm, man! I'd love to hear the rest.

Higher spirits has a smooth, catchy chord progression. Again, though, the vocals need...hmmm...how do I put this....balls. Yeah, the vocals need balls.

Very nice guitar work. It all flows together well.

On Over, the acoustic guitar sounds good, but the drums over power it. Try turning down the drums a bit. Put some 'verb on the vox, maybe a little compression. Overall great tune, just needs a little tweaking.
 
gmiller1122 - I know what you are saying and thats what I want to eventually achive but I do most of my recording late at night and I live in a apartment so I have to tone my vocals down a little.
 
How do I get rid of the scratchy guitar sound on 'Higher Sights'?

How did you record the acoustic guitar?

I think the musical content is fine,I agree with what synergy said,and I think you should make the acoustic guitar prominant throughout the whole song,especially when you go into the lead.

The acoustic guitar is the cheapest electro-acoustic I could find recordeded direct with lots of EQ to make it sound better. Basically I will only start buying expensive gear when I have deceided if I'm good enough to make a go of it.
