So this is my second attempt at recording these guys, the first is the song called "Big Bear Affair". The rest were recording using an ADAT XT for drums and scratch then multi tracking into my mac 8600 into Pro Tools Free. Then mixing and my feeble attempt at mastering using Cubase 5.0 .

The band was very happy.

Feedback please

Welcome to another Albertan!

I'll tune in when I'm at the studio. Let me know if you gig in Calgary at all!

The drums make me think that they were recorded inside a big trash bag or something ( i know that makes no sense, but its all I could think of). Everything osudned really good (really like how the vocals sat), but the drums sound like ass. The bass drum is too "poofy" or something. The snare needs mroe high end. They all need more attack, on't know what to tell ya. Sorry, maybe some who knows more then me can come help ya.

I know what you are saying about the drums esp. the Kick. I used a D112 and had no punch there whatsoever. Thanks alot for the input though, If anyone has anything constructive to say that would be grand. The new project I'm working on has waaaay more life. So we will see.

I agree with the previous comment. The bass, guitar, and vocals sound good. I listened to 'Sesame Street Gang' (funny tune, BTW), and 'I'll Decide'. Tell us about what mics you used on the drums, and the kit itself. Was there a front head on the kick? Did the drumer use a felt beater?

Also, I really like the two guitars panned hard right and hard left technique. I just used this myself for the first time. Check out my 'First pretty good mixes' post for the links, if you want.

If anyone is willing, please take a look at my post in this forum for my bands new tune also, never before have I had such a lack of response on this board.....
