Some effects used on a fuel song..

i'm about to do a cover of bittersweet by fuel with my band, and i love some of the effects they used in it. i'd like to use them in our cover and maybe some other songs sometime. Firstoff, on the bridge, "swallow the pill..." (around 1:00), thats an echo used on guitar right? i have no clue how to get it to echo that much and that quickly. second, whats used on the guitar for the first 6 seconds or so? By the way, i'm using n-track with the blueline plugins.

why not just make your guitars sound better than what's on the fuel cd? that shouldn't be too difficult....plus, if the guitar part is strong in the song, it doesn't matter too much what effects you use....it takes a certain taste to try to reproduce a certain sound, which is good for learning..........but, it doesn't mean you can't cover a song without playing it like the record........when you cover a song you should massacre not replicate.
