The last thread about "what to charge as a new guy" got off track (pleasantly off track, but off non the less) so i was hopeing to get back to my mixes on myspace.

The what to charge issue is null and void, id just lke some comments on what ive done. And mp3 arguments aside, i do believe that the format had a major impact on my mixes, it brought the vocals way up front in a bad way, the guitars are thinner and the over all mix sounds flat. But as was stated many times, a GOOD mix should translate no matter what. so i know ive got a LONG way to go.

SOOOOOO, some CONSTRUCTIVE critisism would be nice. "more of this, less of that" "this was good, this needs some work and hears a suggestion" thats what id like if yall could supply me with that kinda help. instead of "it sucks, keep working.

thanks for your time, and PLEASE listen to both songs start to finish, it just matters to me thats all. www.myspace.com/tmdne

It's "criticism".

Was that constructive enough? :D

Sorry couldn't resist. I agree with NYMorningstar, the mp3 clinic would be a better place to post your tracks. You'll probably get a lot more responses there.

Careful, Al, some of your Chicago geneology is starting to poke through ;) :D

Like I said in the other thread, post them in the mp3 forum. Also, upload 320 mp3's to a host (www.lightningmp3.com is a good one), because myspace does hose the mixes. They are like 64k mp3's or something like that.

PS - your mixes don't suck. :D

If you really want help, you need to upload better mp3's to a host. www.lightningmp3.com (click on the link) is a good place to use. You will get specific help on your mix then. In the other thread, you were only asking how much you should charge.

You seem to be a bit touchy about critiques. Nobody was attacking you. For a beginner your mixes are excellent - me, and the others, were merely stating that they did not sound like professional mixes. If you take heed in what everyone here says about your mixes, you will realize, in time, that most of the comments are pretty accurate. I understand your feelings, I went through the same thing. It's hard to hear negative comments about something so personal, and something you've put your heart and soul into. Very, very few people here will have comments with any malice intended.
