over past couple days i've tried out several vocal mics as i have posted in the microphone forum. None seemed to suite my voice the way i wanted it too. All the mics seemed harsh in the midrange, which my voice seems to have alot of.

Until today...i bought a BLUE dragonfly and my problems were solved. Here's a short clip of the dragonfly for those who are interested.

Clarity is what it's all about!

Sounds good,I have one,I use it on everything.
Supposed to be the best on micing guitar cabs.

I chose it over a TLM 103,just sounded better to my ears.

Not overly warm, but very clean and clear.
I'm thinking about saving up for a Baby Bottle, can't find anything else that has Blues clarity, for the price.

I think their mics are definatly underrated.

Best to you,
Pete

BTW-Guitar center sells quick release mounts for mic stands so you don't have to unscrew it every time you want to take it down.

Nice. BLUE is pretty under-rated because their mics are all so idiosyncratic. They'll sound awesome on one voice, but horrible on another. But when nothing else works, they're sometimes just the ticket. And when they shine, they really shine. Looks like you found a good match.

Frist,

Sounds DAMN good over here. You dont happern to have a track done with one of the other mics, like the NTK to compare side by side, do you? Id like to hear that.

Just for the record, what is your chain?

frist,

Good decision, as far as I can tell. The vocal track is smooth and sounds really good. Very warm sound. I was gonna suggest SP C1 b/c I think my voice is similar to yours and the C1 gives my voice good presence and clarity but the dragonfly sounds good on you. Good job! I like the song so far, too.
