hello every one.

I'm now working on a metalcore project, composed of drum, 2 guitar, 1 bass and 1 vocal. The 4th song of the demo includes a guitar solo, I wonder how you guys mix it? do you drop everything under de solo of a db or two, or just boost the solo, I kinda don't have pleasant results now and would be happy if someone could give me a tip or 2.

By the way, got the singer to scream like mad today, Now I gotta wash the mic AND windscreen from all the dribble on them, BEURRRRKKKKKKKK

It's going to depend on the song really and the effect you want it to have. Sit back and listen to the tune while the guys are playing...at the start of the solo, does the lead stab the gain pedal?...If so, bring it up just a bit, if it's supposed to cut through, a little EQ might brighten the part up and let it shine through. The old trusty compression plug-in can help a little too by removing a little bit of the playing dynamics of the solo guitar as well.

Hate to say it but,...it depends.

ahhhhh depends a lot then, since I got one rythm and 3 different solo tracks at a time, double miced.

I'll have to make it the hard way :)
