Solid State Or Tube Rectifier? Differences?

Oooohhh, I just can't HELP myself- got a chance to score some EL84's cheap. Would THEY work...? :p
 
el 84= No. Wrong pinout. I guess (just a guess) someone may make atube conversion thing kinda like a "yellow jacket by THD" but el 84 is not a direct sub for 6v6. Once again a guess but I bet the heater and other specs are different. Have to check the tube manual. To early/late for me to think about. I pee in a toilet/head or on my neighbor's lawn, not on the internet.

The THD Yellow Jackets will work for changing out 6V6s for EL84s, though the main reason for using YJ's is to lower the power of an amp, and there's not that much diff between EL84s and 6V6s.
