Thanks again to anyone who helped answer my interface questions. Now I'm wondering which softwares to try out before I buy? I sampled ableton live since a incomplete version comes with the mobilepre. While its tons of fun, if theres an easy way to multitrack record, I'm missing it. I'm under the impression the mobilepre is designed with sampling in mind, so . . . what (inexpensive) softwares should I demo? I understand I cant use PT Free since i'm running XP?

You can demo a version of Adobe Audition that will let you save, and you can demo Cakewalk stuff, like Sonar, but it won't let you save. There is also Acid Express, it's a freebie, and so is N-Track studio. There's more, and someone will post those, as I forget.

I think Cubasis is a free, but I'm not totally shure. You may want to do a search on it. I know it came free with my soundcard.
