I recently bought a Behringer FCA202 F-Control audio interface. I'm not buying another interface, atleast for the moment. I don't have any money.

I'm currently using it at a friend's house, I can't give you specifications on his Laptop, the best I can tell you is it's running XP. We went through all the set-up, installed the driver, plugged it into the firewire port, plugged in a dynamic mic into the interface, etc. When we went to actually record with Audacity, with the firewire set as the recording device, it didn't pick up anything. Not in the norm of not picking up anything, there wasn't a silent, straight line, there just wasn't anything.

I'm pretty sure this is a software problem, correct me if I'm wrong. If I need to use different software, it needs to be freeware. If I need a new recording interface, we can go back to using cheap computer mics.
