I am looking for some cheap(or free) software synths for my trance productions. I currently use Fruityloops with Simsynth and Wasp but I need more flexibility. Any ideas?

Cheap Soft Synths
I found an interesting PDF file on the Electronic Musician website:

This PDF lists 76 "Software Synths, Samplers, Sound-Design Software, and Software Drum Machines" from a variety of vendors.
The cheapest software synths listed are a series of $20 shareware synths from a company called Wavelength Devices.
Virtual Sound Canvas from Edirol is listed as $50 in this table (I had thought it was more than that.)
Other synths priced in the $50 to $90 range are from Blueshock, Jambient Software, Muon Software, Nyr Sound, SeerMusic Systems, Synapse Audio, and Zarg Music. See the PDF for more details, or check out the websites of these companies.
I have never used any of these softsynths myself, so I can't vouch for any of them!

Also check out the thread in the "Keyboards and Sound Modules" forum called "Favorite softsynth -- what's yours?" Several people mentioned personal favorites that are free. Three of these people mentioned Crystal as their favorite.
