I`ve finally done it.For a year now I`ve had my vs1680,audiophile 2496 soundcard and cakewalk pro audio 9. Getting them to work together has been the most frustrating thing I`ve ever done .Actually I quit and just used my 1680 untill about a week ago when I bought a new p4 computer. Well I took another run at it and finally got some audio recorded from my 1680 into cakewalk I can hear it and even add effects.I have a question about midi though....I have my cakewalk set at 44100 sampling rate, 24 audio driver bit depth and 24 file bit depth.I have a roland vsc3 soft synth but it only supports 16 bits. My cakewalk tells me on startup that the vsc`s bit depth is incorrect but lets me hear midi files anyway.should I be looking for a new soft synth that works with 24 bit depth. Any advice on which one to get .Thanks for any input

Howdy banjoal.

Theres some reason that the errors window pops up.
Usually when something isn't right.

I'd experiment with different bid depth settings until cakewalk shuts up.
That's what I've done in the past and everything works fine.
Higher setting doesn't necessarly make for better recordings.
Go lower first. If that don't work, go higher. If that don't work, let us know what you've done and the results. Someone will know and be along soon.
I hope.

Good luck.
