Hi All,
I think I've followed most of the advice offered
I've:
Evened out the vocals;
Lifted the drums;
Dried the vocals;
Cut back on the rhythm guitar (I hope I picked the right one);
Altered the guitar balance in the change &
Attempted to address the vol cut after the intro.
Here's the link to the updated version -

Let me know how I went.

Hi,
I think I over did it with the bass.
There are 2 quietness probs. I had originally increased the vol for the intro - drama - and then there's a strange dip at about 10 seconds. I can't work out how that happened. It should be a little more even now. The guitars are more evenly matched but I'm not sure if it's what is wanted. Perhaps a little too quiet in the guitar dept.
Let me know.

I think it sounds better. I can hear the vox much better. Not sure if they are too loud......I always hve trouble with vox till I've mixed it 1 million times.... :eek:

This was one very special song, rayc. I liked bass a lot.
I was listening to song once before but I did not have time to post my comments.
Now I’m listening again and it’s sounding much better. You have lifted vox up, sax solo too.
Those two dist guitars panned to left and right make everything so special.
I can’t say the mix is perfect but I like it a lot. I wouldn’t know what to do about it.
See you!

I really think this is a cool tune, Ray. Nice vocals. The sax is a nice surprise. Has a psychedelic 60's vibe to it. And a fade out! Cool song, man.

Dogman, Sikter & RAMI,
Thanks chaps.
I've just added the lyrics to the soundclick site so if any one whats an idea of what's going on have a squiz.
Dogman - I agree, I'm uncertain about the vocal vol. Perhaps someone else will offer an opinion.
Sikter - You're very kind. Ta.
RAMI - Thanks for the kind words - Terry'll appreciate the comments re his sax.

This second mix is better - now it has a better balance. But now I'm hearing the vocals are lower (actually still a tiny bit too low) in the first half compared to the second (which might be a tiny bit high). I'd also like the sax a bit higher at the end.....That's my preference now, but I'll need to listen a few more times to see how it sounds.....

:) :D :) :D :) :D
