well did you see the shelltop guitars or the goldplate covered humbuckers
they are very mystic about the pick-ups but it is really cheap
 
Yeah, yag, I saw those. Kinda cool.

But a friend of mine raves about the GFS pickups. He says they're as good if not better than the usual suspects.
 
I bought a floating bridge from them recently. They were cheap & good in addition to being quick and friendly.

I figured "What the hell, at the very least I can turn it into art." The cheapest shipping method was $25, so the GT was $68. Now keep in mind this is only for the neck and body. It's not a complete kit. I'll still need to buy tuners, PUPs, bridge, pots, etc. But I can't really do any of that until the kit gets here.

I'd be glad for you to hook me up with Action Music. Where are they located?

I heard about them from a guitarist friend and he raves about them (especially their pickups). He's planning several guitar upgrade projects thanks to them. He's even thinking of getting some of those MOD thingies.
 
better watch it. you'll end up with parts guitars all over the place like me. :p
 
those prices are so insanely cheap.........what's the catch? do they sell your credit card info or something? they can't be making enough money off the shipping.....something's gotta be amiss here.

b/c otherwise i'd be jumping on a couple of those bodies and a new bridge for my bass and maybe a couple modboards. :D

Nah, I think that they're getting blems from the manufacturer that makes their Xaviere line and selling them for cost X 2.5.

Oh come on Norm...its already got a good finish and it's just waiting for you to bolt it together. Doing a good finish is the real time consuming part of one of these kits-and they do have some fine pickups at their site. I just added the pickups to 3 of my guitars and they sound great.;)

Actually, Tony, I am quite excited by this project. I got an email today saying it had been shipped. Rokket is correct in saying it's a string-through-body design, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a bridge. I'm more concerned about pickups as I know little about them, especially for bass.

I need absolutely no pickguard advice, however! :D
 
Just checked UPS tracking, and the kit arrives tomorrow!
