I was testing out a pair of M-audio bx8a and i noticed one of the tweeters started to sound like crap after turning it up pretty loud. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've heard m-audio tweeter's are easy to fry.

My question is how will I know if it's the tweeter and not something else?...Like a capacitor or resistor or something.

What can I do to fix it? I have the whole monitor apart right now. I'm going to contact m-audio tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement.

Is there any tests I can do to know for sure that it's the tweeter?

Once you take it apart you void the Warranty. They may not replace anything. Most don't cover product abuse anyway.

You can use a multi-meter to do an ohm/continuity check on the tweeter alone. If it shows zero then the voice coil is broken.

The tweeter it's self is the weakest link if it sounds bad or not at all you'll need to change it out and never turn up to the volume you had. So now you know the limit to how loud you can turn up!:(
