So I just bought a Roland TDS6 vDrumkit & DKFH Superior : MP3 & Pic + A Question
Specs:
p4 3.2 ghz, 2gb ddr sdram.
cakewalk sonar 5 producer - asio
DKFH Superior 1.5
SB Live Audigy 2
Roland TD6S + Extra Tom:
Picture of my kit here
I finally got it all hooked up, and running properly with the software and sonar. It sounds GREAT! It runs perfectly with no latency (none noticable at least) using the DKFH Superior samples. I've only messed with it within the last hour, I tried bleeding all mics, it worked for awhile and then the program started acting goofy.. but without bleeding 'em all its perfectly fine.
I recorded a small sample on top of a guitar/bass track I did awhile ago just to show the realism: The MP3 I purposely emphasized the drums (made them louder) to show the realism and the rawness.
Now here's my question, I want to learn how to master / mix them to get them sounding like the samples on the toontrack site. I'm new to all of this, so I'm starting from ground zero.
How did you learn, how do you recommend I learn, and what software do you prefer using for mastering?
Thanks!
