The song is called "The Madness".

I picked up an AT4040 Condensor Mic today and really like it. The only thing that is rough is being in this hotel, the mic is so sensitive unless you keep the gain down or use the -10db switch. I can hear when people on the other end of the hotel close their doors.

Anyway, vocals are just rough tracks. I'm going to redo vocals on my songs when I get back home so I don't have to reserve myself.

Also, I mixed this one a little bit different. Also used alot less compression on the mix. I didn't realize how much I'm sick of hearing everything squashed. It probably isn't quite as loud as my other songs because I didn't push the limiter as hard either... I'm trying to avoid the Cinder Block looking wav file. I havn't really had much time to do anything either due to work... Let me know what you think...

Sounds cool!

I can't imagine recording vocals in a hotel. I'd be kicked out right away:)

one point in the song (the pre chorus) is effected to the point I can't tell what's being said at all. May want to take that back a notch.

Cool song and I want that mic!!

Dig the squeals man....I really like the production/sound of your recording...evreything is super tight.Your guitar style reminds me of Zack Wylde at times .Vocals are very well done as well...this rocks man...great job!

Nice recording quality.

The guitars are very tight, very nice, crunchy and growling just the proper amount. :)

What's your FX chain on the gits. And what's the other gear for the gits?

Cool song.

Cool solo. Very interesting how the rhythms are in the front and the solo is a little distant in space and more verb'y.

Another cool one man...sonding good to me. Vocals sound fine here....I have an AT4040...I like it. I never get vocals like that, but it might have something to do with the performance... :D

Good song...I like it. Killer tone, and nice rhythm.

Yea the prechorus has a bunch of tracks and the reverb is really heavy in the mix making it hard to hear what I'm saying. Man, this mic is awsome, I'm giving it the recomendation for vocals.

Yea, Zakk does alot of squeals. When I played in a death metal band I was using squeals all over the place, to the point of rediculous... I always feel you can never have enough squeals...

Thanks for the listen guys... I can't wait to record into this mic when I don't have to hold back.

I got my 4040 from guitar center for $260 after a little haggling. Northern Sound is usually a reallly great price. You just have to call for pricing but it is generally alot lower than retail price.

It's hard to hear the reording of the vocals for the effects.
Song seems really good except for the generic guitar tone.

I'm always amazed at the quality you get recording in a hotel room. The neighbors must think you're crazy because all they can hear is when you do the vocals. The rest is probably direct......
I agree - the squeals are cool and are nicely limited in number.

You can tell the quality of the vocals right away - even bathed in effects they sound clean and sweet...

Not getting any doors closing in your recording, but I know what you mean - used to peeve me when the drunks came home from the bars and they woke me up.

Coming home for Christmas soon aren't you?

:) :D :) :D

Generic guitar tone? I'm not exactly sure, but I think you are saying that many others have the same tone? It's a rectafier model so I guess that could be considdered generic.

Yes, I'm coming home slightly before xmas, like 2 days before. I can't wait to get out of here. The band I sing for, Three After, is going to re record the first album. We originally did it before we had a drummer and our second guitarist. So I'm going to be micing the amps, the drums, the bass, and re doing all the vocals. I think it's going to come out good.
