I bought a stage snake to use in my home studio. Is this a good plan? I haven't built the studio yet, but with the tests i've done so far it is proving very convenient. I did a test where I mic'd a drumset in my bands practice space (garage), plugged the mics into the snake, then ran the snake into the living room of the house. not only did the distance between the drums and my "control room" provide for good isolation, but i can also use the snake as a means to talk back to the drummer via one of the 4 return channels. I figure if i cant get soundproof walls for means of isolation, i can use multiple rooms to reduce the chance of the actual drum sound overpowering my headphone mix.
