Pardon my ignorance, but what is "hyper-cardiod" exactly? Is it where the normal cardioid pattern is narrowed a bit.
I know the MXL603S is supposed to be "super" cardioid, with a wider pattern, so that's the opposite of "hyper" cardioid, right?
And while I'm asking questions - where the hell did the word cardioid come from anyway? I understand the pattern, but is it some vague reference to it being a heart-shaped pattern? - ie. cardiac?
